Tongue-tie remedy

People who have been born with tongue-tie have a thick and short lingual frenulum, which reduces the movement of their tongue. This can be seen when looking in the mirror, opening your mouth and lifting your tongue to reveal a band of tissue attaching the bottom of the tongue to the floor of the mouth, or it can be present in either the upper jaw, and its purpose is to help keep teeth in their proper alignment. When it becomes too tight, it can cause misalignment, speech problems, and other issues.

The procedure to remove or release the frenum attachment is called a frenectomy. A frenectomy may be necessary in order to correct these issues, as it will reduce tension on the area, allowing teeth to move freely and preventing further complications.
